Members of a well-known six-man kidnapping gang, including a 30-year-old man named Thomas Yau who orchestrated the abduction of his own mother, have been apprehended by the Zamfara State Police Command. SP Mohammed Shehu, the command's spokesperson, revealed the details during a press conference at the police headquarters in Gusau, the state capital.
Yau was rewarded with N1 million after the gang received a ransom payment of N30 million for the release of his mother and three other victims.
The suspects' names, according to the PPRO, are Thomas Yau, 30, from Makarfi LGA in Kaduna State, Abdulsamad Mohd, 45, Bello Abdullahi, 35, Abubakar Namadi, 30, Suleiman Gabriel, 20, and Christopher Gabriel, 20, all of the same location.
