The Right Reverend Nkechi Nwosu has been ordained as the first female bishop in Nigeria by the Methodist Church of Nigeria. The ordination took place at the Christ Methodist Cathedral Church in Jos, with the Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Reverend Joseph Nnonah officiating.
Nwosu had previously been elected as the Bishop of Jos at the biennial Conference of Methodist Church Nigeria in 2022.
